From Newquay to Land's End

legacies of the tin mining industry

Contentious Cornwall
From the old tin mining areas of St Just in the 'wild west' to the 'stag and hen' territory of Newquay; this coastline sets demands on the way we live and work. The Geography of the place determines the way we use it - but it is not all so good.
Schistophrenic places like Newquay appear to fulfil the family 'bucket and spade' dream during the day and transform themselves to youthful party places by night, dominated by the young.
(7th July - 2 post GCSE exam celebrating pupils die in cliff falls!)
